About
The M Hotel is an scandinavian styled boutique hotel in Raipur City. The Scanvendian design style is characterized by minimalism, simplicity and functionality. The hotel is a piece of interior decor and considering the market, it's a budget option too. This was a website project which I was assigned during my employment at Sampark Infoways. I have always been very keen and fascinated by the ‘hospitality industry’, so I was really excited when I was assigned to the project.

My roles and responsibility
Project Head & Visual Interface Designer
As a project head I was responsible for Planning and executing the project along with client briefings, day to day reporting and team management. As a visual interface designer my job was to create website layout, graphics and mockups of the design.
The Challenge
The M Hotel is a comfort stay with modern interiors and a budget cost. It summarizes the hospitality style of modern times.
The challenge here was to design a web interface that meets the level of the hotel's design and gets along with it's theme too. Another task was to provide the audience of the website the same kind of classic and fresh experience just like the hotel.
Research & Analysis
Contextual research
Now, considering the pain points I deduced from previous steps, I summarized the feelings and needs of user into following user scenarios.
The style and interiors
We begin our analysis by visiting the hotel twice cuz the first time we forgot camera ;p. During our visit, we tried to understand the style of the hotel. The hotel had a vibe of freshness and had nothing that I can call ‘Extra’. The rooms of the hotel had minimal objects and nothing disturbing at all. Pastel and soothing colors we used on the entire interiors. This made one thing sure that the website NEEDS to be minimal and delicate.
The audience of the website
The hotel was primarily designed for frequent travelers for business and work purposes and the rooms, amenities and theme was chosen considering that situation only. Also, the locality of the hotel suits for business and corporate people. Considering the guest to have busy schedules, we decided to put together a rapid booking method also.
Site map
Post the research and analysis on user base we decided the features that are essentials and can add values to our website. We created a site-map to have a rough picture of the placing of those features.

My Learnings
Minimalism in design
Although a very famous concept, but when I saw minimalism cming live to the world in form of a hotel I got to understand the essacne of it even more.
Design with tech considerations
Designing for tech ie UI/UX should always be done within the rulesets of technical possibilities. I got to understand that all the visually applaling design are not practicle to impliment.
